Like many literary festivals, during the pandemic, NCBF switched to online sessions. We are so grateful to the fantastic writers, illustrators and poets who were part of our 2020 and 2021 festival – with their brilliantly engaging and high energy digital sessions we were able to continue to inspire the children and young people of the North East region.
Thank you to all of the schools and teachers who booked for a digital session during the 2 years we weren’t able to come out to you, we believe in the power of reading for pleasure and we’re glad so many of you do too.
In 2022 and 2023 we were back in school halls, classrooms and libraries with a wonderful array of authors, illustrators and poets and it was a roaring success. Huge thanks to everyone who helps make these wonderful events happen, and to all the children for their generosity, enthusiasm and imaginations!
